Heater Core Coolant Leak

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

Freelander (LN) 2A353298 - 3A282009*
* Remember 2A300000 series vehicles come
BEFORE the 3A200000 VIN series

SITUATION:

COOLANT LEAKS FROM HEATER CORE

The customer may complain of coolant odor or evidence of coolant leakage on the interior of the vehicle. Coolant may be leaking from the heater matrix soldered end joints.

RESOLUTION:

INSPECT FOR LEAKS AND REPLACE HEATER CORE

Should a customer complain of leaking from the heater core, verify the source of the leak. If the heater core is indicated replace the heater core with the latest variant.

DDW WARRANTY CLAIMS:





DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.

Normal warranty policy and procedures apply. Material allowance is included in labor operation.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

INSPECT HEATER CORE AND REPLACE IF INDICATED

1. Verify the source of the coolant leak.

2. If the heater core is the cause, refer to GTR Workshop Manual section 80.20.29.





3. Install a new heater core matrix. (Figure 1)
