1. Disconnect the battery ground lead.

2. Remove the engine acoustic cover.

3. Release the vacuum enhancer from intake manifold chamber clips.

WARNING:
Fuel spillage is unavoidable during the fuel line disconnect operation. All necessary precautions must be taken to prevent fire and explosion.

4. Position absorbent cloth around the fuel supply pipe connection to collect spillage.

5. Pull back the rubber sleeve on the fuel pipe connector, release the connector and disconnect the fuel pipe from the fuel rail pipe. (Figure 1)

CAUTION:
Always install plugs to open connections to prevent contamination.

6. Release and disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) hose from purge control valve. (Figure 1)

7. Disconnect the connector from the purge control valve. (Figure 1).

8. Release the harness and fuel supply pipe from the clip on the intake manifold chamber.

9. Depress the plastic collar to release the vacuum enhancer pipe from the manifold chamber.

10. Disconnect the electrical connector from the intake air temperature (IAT) and mass airflow (MAF) sensors. (Figure 2)

11. Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body. (Figure 2)

12. Release the clip and disconnect the air intake pipe from the throttle body. (Figure 2)

13. Remove the two screws securing the engine harness brackets to the intake manifold chamber and position the harness aside. (Figure 3)

CAUTION:
Always install plugs to open connections to prevent contamination.

14. Depress the plastic collar to release the vacuum/breather pipe from the intake manifold chamber. (Figure 4)

15. Depress the plastic collar to release the vacuum/breather pipe from the left-hand camshaft cover.

16. Disconnect the electrical connectors from VIS motors. (Figure 5)

17. Remove the four bolts securing the intake manifold chamber rear support brackets to the right-hand camshaft cover. (Figure 6)

18. Remove the four bolts securing intake manifold chamber to the left-hand intake manifold. (Figure 7)

19. Release and raise the intake manifold chamber from the let manifolds.

CAUTION:
Always install plugs to open connections to prevent contamination.

20. Remove the intake manifold chamber.
