Revised Torque for Rear Link Bolt
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
Freelander (LN) All
SITUATION:
CURRENT TORQUE SPECIFICATION CHANGED
An engineering specification for the torque for the rear suspension transverse link outer attachment bolt has been changed. This fastener secures both of the transverse links to the hub assembly. The current specification quoted in the workshop manual of 105 Nm has resulted in excessive clamp loads. The relevant sections in the Workshop Manual will be updated at the next available opportunity.
RESOLUTION:
TIGHTEN THE RETAINING BOLT USING THE NEW TIGHTENING METHOD
When installing the rear suspension transverse link to hub assembly bolt (ANR5337) and nut (RYH500120) follow the new torque method outlined in the Repair Procedure.
