Window Lift

Window Lift

DESCRIPTION

Introduction
Individual window switches are installed in each of the three passenger doors. Window switches for all the windows, and a child lock switch to isolate the rear windows, are installed in the drivers door in the top surface of the door trim. The drivers window also incorporates a self contained anti-trap regulator, which features one shot up operation.

All window switches are of the non-latching rocker type and contain illumination bulbs that operate when the side lamps or headlamps are on.

OPERATION

Power Distribution
Feed from the positive battery terminal (C0192) is supplied to fusible link 11E and fusible link 18E (C0632) on an R wire. Both are located in the Battery Junction Box (BJB). Fusible link 18E (C0570) is connected to the window lift relay, the open/close Field Effect Transistor (FET), and fuse 7P by an NS wire. All are located in the Central Junction Box (CJB) (C0583). Fuse 7P (C0585) provides a constant battery feed to the drivers door window lift motor (C0740) on a GU wire.

Fusible link 11E (C0570) is connected to the ignition switch (C0028) by an N wire. When the ignition switch is in the auxiliary position, current flows across the switch (C0028) to the CJB (C0582) on a W wire. When the ignition switch is in the ignition position, current flows across the switch (C0028) to the CJB (C0582) on a Y wire. When the ignition switch is turned to the crank position, current flows across the switch (C0028) to the CJB via fuse 60P (C0582) on a WR wire. The CJB (C0585) is provided a ground on a B wire.

Window Lift Relay
The window lift relay is located in the CJB. Operation of the relay is controlled by the CJB. When energised, the window lift relay provides a feed to fuse 17P, fuse 30P, and fuse 31P. Fuse 30P (C0585) provides a feed to the passenger door window motor (C0741) on a GU wire.

Fuse 31P (C0585) provides a feed to the drivers door window switch (C0343) on a GU wire. Fuse 17P (C0585) provides a feed to the drivers door window switch (C0343) on a GN wire.

Front Passenger Window
The front passenger window motor assembly (C0741) is provided a feed by the open/close FET (C0586) on an SB wire. The motor assembly (C0741) monitors the condition of the window switch (C0087) by providing two reference feeds, one on a BS wire, one on a BR wire. If a request is made to lower the window, the motor assembly recognises a ground path via the window switch on the BS wire. If a request is made to raise the window, the motor assembly recognises a ground path via the window switch on the BR wire. The window switch is provided a ground path via a B wire.

The front passenger window motor assembly (C0741) is also provided a feed from fuse 30P of the CJB (C0585) on a GU wire. This feed is used to power the motor in response to window switch requests. The motor (C0741) is provided a ground path via a B wire.

RH Rear Window
The RH rear window switch (C0732) is provided a feed by drivers door window switch (C2654) on an SY wire. If a request is made to lower the window, current flows across the switch (C0732) to the motor (C2484) on an SR wire. Current flows through the motor windings and back to the switch (C0732) on an SO wire. A ground path is supplied via the drivers door window switch (C0343) on an SR wire.

If a request is made to raise the window, current flows across the switch (C0732) to the motor (C2484) on an SO wire. Current flows through the motor windings and back to the switch (C0732) on an SR wire. A ground path is supplied via the drivers door window switch (C0343) on an SO wire.

The drivers door switch (C0081) is provided a ground path on a pair of B wires.

LH Rear Window
The LH rear window switch (C0732) is provided a feed by drivers door window switch (C2654) on an SY wire. If a request is made to lower the window, current flows across the switch (C0732) to the motor (C2484) on an SR wire. Current flows through the motor windings and back to the switch (C0732) on an SO wire. A ground path is supplied via the drivers door window switch (C0343) on an SR wire.

If a request is made to raise the window, current flows across the switch (C0732) to the motor (C0304) on an SO wire. Current flows through the motor windings and back to the switch (C0732) on an SR wire. A ground path is supplied via the drivers door window switch (C0343) on an SO wire.

The drivers door switch (C0081) is provided a ground path on a pair of B wires.

NOTE: The LH and RH rear connectors share the same numbers as they utilise the same door harness.

Drivers Window
The drivers door window lift motor (C0740) is provided a feed by fuse 7P (C0585) on a GU wire. Fuse 7P is located in the CJB. The motor (C0740) provides references feeds to the drivers window switch (C0081) on a BU and a BK wire. If a request is made to lower the drivers door window, a ground is created via the switch on a B wire. This is sensed by the control unit within the motor assembly via the BK wire. The control unit will now provide a feed to the motor to lower the window.

If a request is made to raise the drivers door window, a ground path is created via the switch on a B wire. This is sensed by the control unit within the motor assembly via the BU wire. The control unit will now provide a feed to the motor to raise the window. The motor assembly is provided a ground on a B wire.

The drivers door window switch is also able to control the operation of the front passenger and both rear windows.

Front Passenger Window
If a request is made to lower the front passenger window from the drivers door switch (C0081), a feed is provided to the motor assembly (C0741) via the passenger window switch (C0087) on a BR wire. If a request is made to raise the front passenger window from the drivers door switch (C0081), a feed is provided to the motor assembly (C0741) via the passenger window switch (C0087) on a BS wire.

RH Rear Window
If a request is made to lower the RH rear window from the drivers door switch (C0343), a feed is provided to the motor (C0304) via the RH rear window switch (C0732) on an SO wire. If a request is made to raise the RH rear window from the drivers door switch (C0343), a feed is provided to the motor (C0304) via the RH rear window switch (C0732) on an SR wire.

LH Rear Window
If a request is made to lower the LH rear window from the drivers door switch (C0343), a feed is provided to the motor (C0304) via the LH rear window switch (C0732) on an SO wire. If a request is made to raise the LH rear window from the drivers door switch (C0343), a feed is provided to the motor (C0304) via the LH rear window switch (C0732) on an SR wire.

NOTE: The LH and RH rear connectors share the same numbers as they utilise the same door harness.

Rear Window Inhibit
The drivers door switch incorporates a rear window inhibit switch. When this switch is pressed it removes the feed to the passenger window switch (C0087) and the rear window switches (C0732) on SY wires. The passenger and rear windows can still be operated from the drivers window switch.

Switch Illumination
When the lighting control switch is turned to the side lamp position, the switch (C0041) provides a feed to the following illumination bulbs on RN wires:
^ Drivers window switch (C0343)
^ Passenger window switch (C0087)
^ RH rear window switch (C0732)
^ LH rear window switch (C0732).

All are provided a ground on B wires.
