Ashtray Will Not Close / Ashtray Carrier Availability

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
LR3 (LA) VIN: 5A000360 - 9A513325
Model Year: 2005 - 2009

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

The ashtray may not close fully. This may be caused by the ashtray carrier and not the ashtray. It is no longer necessary to replace the complete ashtray.

Action:

In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to replace the ashtray carrier only and not the complete ashtray.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

REPLACE THE ASHTRAY CARRIER

NOTE:
Complete ashtray shown removed for clarity.





1. Remove the ashtray from the ashtray carrier. (Figure 1)





2. Using suitable tools, gently press against the ashtray carrier fixing clips and remove the ashtray carrier. (Figure 2)





3. Install the new ashtray carrier (LR5022570). (Figure 3)





4. Install the original ashtray. (Figure 4)

5. Verify ashtray operation.
