Special Service Tools





Removal

WARNING: Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.

1. WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove the engine cover.
3. Remove the catalytic converters.
4. Remove the RH fender splash shield.
5. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensors (HO2S) electrical connectors.

6. WARNING: Do not twist the HO2S wiring harness on removal. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the component.

Remove the 2 HO2S.
Special Service Tools: Wrench, HO2S





7. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.





8. Remove the 2 exhaust manifolds.
9. Remove and discard the 2 gaskets.





Installation

1. Install new gaskets.

2. CAUTION: Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.

Evenly and progressively, tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
Torque:
24 Nm





3. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.

Torque:
10 Nm

4. CAUTION: Make sure the anti-seize compound does not contact the HO2S tip.

Install the HO2S.
Special Service Tools: Wrench, HO2S

Torque:
45 Nm

5. Connect the HO2S electrical connectors.
6. Install the fender splash shield.
7. Remove the catalytic converters.
8. Install the engine cover.
