No.: P010

Issue: 1

Date: 24 July 2008

SECTION: 303

RECALL: P010 - LR2 Emissions Calibration

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

A concern has been identified with the emissions calibration on LR2 vehicles. The concern has resulted in an unacceptable variation in the levels of hydrocarbon emissions during the Federal test cycle.

Action:

Retailers are requested to update the affected vehicles in their control and withhold them from retail delivery pending completion of the Recall action detailed in this bulletin.

Owners will be notified by Customer Letter of the Recall with the request that they contact a Retailer to have the update performed. At the time of customer appointment ensure that all outstanding service campaigns for the individual vehicle are identified, and allocate sufficient time and resources to complete all campaigns.

Perform the repair procedure below. When the software update procedure is completed, the vehicle may be released for sale or returned to the customer.

To identify repaired vehicles, US Retailers must complete and install a Service Action 'Authorized Modifications' label on the radiator support panel.

California Retailers are required by the California Code of Regulations to complete a salmon-colored 'Vehicle Emissions Recall - Proof of Correction' certificate. This form must be provided to the customer for vehicles registered in California when the Recall work has been completed.
