Loss of Audio System Sound on Start-up - Repair Procedure
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE
CONDITION SUMMARY:
AUDIO SYSTEM LOSES SOUND ON ENGINE START-UP
Situation:
The audio system may lose sound on engine start-up.
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, follow the Repair Procedure outlined below.

Land Rover IDS and the Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply are required. Land Rover IDS DVD 109 Patch File 6

DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
RECONFIGURE THE AUDIO AMPLIFIER MODULE
CAUTION:
Land Rover IDS DVD109 Patch File 6 and the Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply are required.
1. Connect the Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply to the vehicle.
2. Connect the IDS to the vehicle and begin a new diagnostic session by entering the correct VIN for the current vehicle.
3. Select from the pop-up 'Freelander 2 [LR2]'.
4. Press 'tick' to continue.
5. Select the correct engine derivative from the 'Vehicle Variant Menu'.
6. Press 'tick' to continue.
7. Follow the IDS prompts to read the vehicle configuration.
8. When prompted 'Do you wish to read diagnostic trouble codes?' select 'NO'.
9. Press 'tick' to continue.
10. Select 'Vehicle Configuration tab' when the Content Model is displayed.
11. Select Module programming from the 'Vehicle configuration menu'.
12. Select 'Configure existing modules'.
13. Select 'Software enhancement program'.
NOTE:
Select only the Audio Amplifier Module from the drop-down menu when performing this Technical Bulletin.
14. Select the 'Audio amplifier module'.
15. Press 'tick' to continue.
16. Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.
17. Select Diagnostic Trouble Code monitor tab.
18. Read and clear all DTCs.
19. Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.
20. When the task is completed, exit the current session.
21. Disconnect IDS and the Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply.
