Rear Door Lower Exterior Molding Loose - Repair Procedure

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
The rear door lower exterior trim molding may become partially detached from the door. This may be caused by the clips not being fully engaged in the door or by separation of the two-piece retaining clips.
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above and where the molding is not damaged, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
INSTALL REAR DOOR LOWER EXTERIOR MOLDING
1. Beginning from the front and working rearwards, partially remove door trim lower molding from the door by pulling outwards. (Figure 1)
^ Remove molding from all clips except for the lower rear clip.
^ Remove final clip by sliding the molding rearwards to disengage the clip from the dog housing.
NOTE:
Ensure parts of the existing clip do not 'drop' into the door on removal.
2. Remove the lower rear clip from the dog housing. (Figure 2)
3. Inspect the molding for damage to clips / dog housing. Repair as a separate Warranty claim. (Figure 3)
4. Install new one-piece clip (DYC500110) in the lower rear dog housing. (Figure 4)
5. Install molding to door, ensuring all eight clips are fully seated by listening for a 'click'. (Figure 5)
