Adaptive Front Lighting System Warning Indicator Flashing / DTC B1D64-01 or B1D65-01 Stored - Repair Procedure





AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

The Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) warning indicator may flash and Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1D64-01 or B1D65-01 may be stored. This may be caused by a position loss within the AFS stepper motor.

Action:

In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to reconfigure the front lighting control module.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

RECONFIGURE THE FRONT LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
A Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during IDS diagnosis / module programming.

1. Connect the Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply to the vehicle battery.

NOTE:
IDS must be loaded with software release DVD114 Patch File 5 or later.

2. Connect the IDS to the vehicle and begin a new diagnostic session by entering the correct VIN for the current vehicle.

3. Follow the IDS prompts to read the vehicle configuration.

4. Select 'No' when prompted 'Do you wish to read diagnostic trouble codes?'

5. Select 'tick' to continue.

6. Select the 'Vehicle Configuration' tab when Content Model is displayed.

7. From the Vehicle Configuration menu, configure the 'Front lighting control module' by selecting from the drop-down menu:

'Module programming' > 'Configure existing module' > 'Front lighting control module'

8. Select 'tick' to continue, following all on-screen instructions to complete this task.

9. Select 'Set-up and configuration'.

10. Select 'Lighting'.

11. From the drop-down menu, select 'Headlamp control module system calibration'.

12. Press 'tick' to continue.

13. Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.

14. Exit the current session.

15. Disconnect IDS and the Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply from the vehicle.
