SERVICE ACTION: Engine Vent Hose Coolant Leak
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
LR2 (LF) VIN: 8H000001-AH154175
Model Year: 2008 - 2010
CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
A potential concern has been identified with a number of LR2 vehicles regarding a coolant leak from the quick connector joint securing a vent hose to the engine.
The coolant leak is a drip; therefore, the vehicle will lose coolant over an extended period of time. The loss in coolant could lead to engine overheating issues which in turn could trigger the reduced performance strategy.
Action:
Retailers are required to HOLD all affected vehicles in the above VIN range that are in their control and refrain from releasing the vehicles for new or used vehicle sale pending completion of the rework action detailed in this Technical Bulletin. Vehicles must not be released until inspecting, and if necessary replacing, the vent hose assembly. Affected vehicles in the hands of owners should be repaired at the next available opportunity. At the time of customer appointment, ensure that all outstanding service campaigns for each individual vehicle are identified and allocate sufficient time and resources to complete all campaigns.
For cars in Retailer inventory, this Service Action should be performed in conjunction with the vehicle Pre- Delivery Inspection (PDI).
