Steering Angle Sensor

Steering Angle Sensor

OPERATION

Power Distribution
Feed from the positive battery terminal (C0192) is supplied to fusible link 11E (C0632) on an R wire. Fusible link 11E (C0570) is located in the battery Junction Box (BJB) and is connected to the ignition switch (C0028) by an N wire. When the ignition switch is in the ignition position, current flows across the switch (C0028) to fuse 66P of the Central Junction Box (CJB) (C0582) on a Y wire. Fuse 66P (C0582) provides an ignition feed to the steering angle sensor (C0862) on an R wire. The steering angle sensor (C0862) is provided a ground path on a B wire.

CAN Bus
The steering angle sensor (C0862) provides a steering angle speed message to the instrument cluster (C0230) via the high speed CAN bus on YN (high) and YB (low) wires. The instrument cluster acts as a gateway, relaying this message to the following components on the high speed CAN bus:
^ ABS module (C0506)
^ Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) ECU (C2193)
^ Speed control module (C2145)
^ Air suspension control module (C0867).
