Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Drain the engine oil.
4. Remove the oil cooler assembly.
5. Remove the engine front cover.
6. Remove the front differential.
7. Remove the steering gear.
8. Remove the generator.
9. Remove the generator mounting bracket.
^ Remove the 4 bolts.
10. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connectors.
^ Release the 8 wiring harness securing clips.
11. Release the H02S mounting bracket.
^ Remove the 2 bolts.
12. Release the H02S wiring harness from the oil pan.
^ Release the 3 clips.
13. Remove the transmission retaining bolts.
^ Remove the 3 bolts.
14. Remove the sump pan.
^ Remove the 16 bolts.
Installation
1. Install the sump pan.
^ Clean the component mating faces.
^ Apply a bead of sealant, 3 mm diameter by 130 cm long, to the areas indicated.
^ Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the transmission retaining bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the H02S mounting bracket.
^ Tighten the 2 bolts to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect the H02S electrical connectors.
^ Install the wiring harness clips.
5. Install the H02S wring harness.
^ Secure the clips.
6. Install the generator mounting bracket.
^ Clean the component mating faces.
7. Install the generator.
8. Install the steering gear.
9. Install the front differential.
10. Install the oil cooler assembly.
11. Install the engine front cover.
12. Fill the engine with oil.
13. Connect the battery ground cable.
