3.5 Turbine Shaft Speed Sensor

3.5 Turbine Shaft Speed Sensor
3.5.1 Description
The turbine shaft speed sensor is monitored in two different ways.

1. The TCM on board diagnostic hardware monitors the turbine shaft speed sensor signal for short circuit to ground, open circuit and short circuit to B+ conditions.
2. As long as the entry conditions are satisfied, the turbine shaft speed sensor signal is continually monitored for unusually high and low speed values.
In both cases, the MIL is illuminated if the failure is registered on two drive cycles.

If the above table does not include details of the following enabling conditions: - IAT, ECT, vehicle speed range, and time after engine start-up then the state of these parameters has no influence upon the execution of the monitor.
