Air Suspension Compressor

Service Repair No - 60.50.10


Removal

NOTE:
There is no need to depressurize the air suspension during this procedure.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the loadspace floor panel.
3. Release the wing nut securing the spare wheel to the air suspension compressor housing. Remove the bolt and collect the cup.
4. Remove the spare wheel and tire.
^ Close the tailgate and install the spare wheel release strap.
^ Open the tailgate.
^ Disconnect the spare wheel release strap and position aside.





5. Remove the air suspension compressor cover.
^ Remove the 4 bolts.





6. Position the air suspension electrical harness aside.
^ Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.
^ Remove the electrical tape.





CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing the components, ensure the area around the joint faces and connections are clean and dry. Plug open connections to prevent contamination.

7. Position the air compressor lines aside.
^ Disconnect the air compressor outlet line.
^ Release the air suspension reservoir solenoid valve block, from the compressor mounting bracket.





8. Remove the air suspension compressor assembly.
^ Remove the 4 bolts.





NOTE:
Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

NOTE:
Note the fitted position of the washers.

9. Remove the air suspension compressor lower cover.
^ Remove and discard the 4 retainers.
^ Collect the 4 bolts and washers.





10. Remove the air suspension compressor.
^ Remove the 3 bolts.
^ Release the electrical connector from the clip.
^ Disconnect and remove the air suspension compressor inlet line.
^ Remove the air suspension compressor muffler.





NOTE:
Note the orientation of the rubber mounts.

11. Remove the rubber mounts.
^ Remove the electrical harness clip.





Installation
1. Install the rubber mounts.
^ Install the harness clip.

2. Install the air suspension compressor.
^ Install the air suspension compressor muffler.
^ Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).
^ Install and connect the air suspension compressor inlet line.
^ Connect the electrical connector.

3. Install the air suspension compressor lower cover.
^ Position the washers.
^ Install the bolts.

4. Install the air suspension compressor assembly to the vehicle.
^ Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).

5. Install the air suspension compressor lines.
^ Install the air suspension reservoir solenoid valve block.
^ Clean the component mating faces.
^ Connect the air compressor outlet line.

6. Position the electrical harness.
^ Connect and secure the electrical connectors.

CAUTION: Make sure the air suspension compressor upper cover is correctly positioned.

CAUTION: Make sure the electrical harness and air lines are not trapped.

7. Install the air suspension compressor upper cover.
^ Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).

8. Install the spare wheel and tire.
^ Install the cup washer and bolt, tighten the wing nut.

9. Install the loadspace floor panel.
10. Connect the battery ground cable.
