Engine Wiring Harness
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal
1 Remove the cover and disconnect the battery ground cable.
For additional information, refer to Specifications [1][2]Specifications

WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
2 Raise and support the vehicle.
3 Remove the battery tray.

4 Remove the plenum chamber.
For additional information, refer to Plenum Chamber Plenum Chamber
5 Remove the intake manifold assembly.
For additional information, refer to Intake Manifold Service and Repair
6 Remove the RH engine mount.
For additional information, refer to Engine Mount RH Engine Mount RH




7 Disconnect the 2 engine control module electrical connectors.




8 Release and disconnect the 2 LH HO2S electrical connectors.




9 Disconnect the 2 camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connectors.





10 Disconnect the 3 variable camshaft timing solenoid electrical connectors.





11 Disconnect the 6 ignition coil-on-plugs.





12 Disconnect the 6 fuel injector electrical connectors.





13 Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.





14 Disconnect the generator connector.





15 Disconnect the front knock sensor (KS) connector.





16 Disconnect the rear knock sensor (KS) connector.





17 Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.





18 Disconnect the starter motor electrical connector.





19 Release the catalyst monitor sensor wiring harness.





20 Disconnect the oil level sensor electrical connector.





21 Remove the A/C compressor, upper support bracket.





22 Remove the A/C compressor, lower support bracket.





23 Using suitable tools, release the accessory drive belt tension.





24 Release the A/C compressor and position aside.





25 Disconnect the transmission electrical connector.





26 Release the 3 ground cables.





27 Disconnect the engine wiring harness.

28 Remove the engine wiring harness.

Installation
1 Install the engine wiring harness.
2 Connect the engine wiring harness.
Torque to: 10 Nm
3 Attach the ground cables.
Torque to: 10 Nm
4 Connect the transmission electrical connector.
5 Install the A/C compressor.
Torque to: 25 Nm
6 Install the accessory drive belt.
7 Install the A/C compressor, lower support bracket.
Torque to: 25 Nm
8 Install the A/C compressor, upper support bracket.
M10: 45 Nm
M8: 25 Nm
M6: 10 Nm
9 Connect the oil level sensor electrical connector.

10 Attach the catalyst monitor sensor wiring harness.

11 Connect the starter motor electrical connector.
Torque to: 10 Nm

12 Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.

13 Connect the generator electrical connector.
Torque to: 10 Nm

14 Connect the KS electrical connectors.

15 Connect and secure the ECT sensor electrical connector.

16 Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

17 Connect the coil-on-plug electrical connectors.

18 Disconnect the variable camshaft timing solenoids.

19 Connect the HO2S electrical connectors.

20 Connect the ECM electrical connectors.

21 Install the engine mount.

22 Install the intake manifold.

23 Install the air intake plenum.

24 Install the battery tray.

25 Connect the battery ground cable and install the cover.
For additional information, refer to Specifications [1][2]Specifications
