Installation






Engine
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

1 With assistance, carefully install the engine and transmission.
E70 - Powertrain Jack
2 RH side: Install the engine mount.
Torque to: 80 Nm
3 Install the LH engine mount.
Torque to: 175 Nm
4 Install the bracket.
M12: 80 Nm
M8: 25 Nm
5 Remove the engine support.
6 Connect the bulkhead heater hoses.

CAUTION: Make sure that the component is clean, free of foreign material and lubricant.

CAUTION: Make sure that new bolts are installed.
7 Install the driveshaft.
Torque to: 40 Nm
8 Install the coolant expansion tank.
Torque to: 10 Nm
9 Connect the purge line.

10 Connect the engine compartment ground cables.
M8: 25 Nm
M6: 10 Nm

11 Secure the engine wiring harness.
Torque to: 10 Nm

12 Install the RH ground cable.
Torque to: 10 Nm

CAUTION: A new O-ring seal is to be installed.

CAUTION: Extreme cleanliness must be exercised when handling these components.

13 Connect the fuel line.

14 Install the transmission fluid cooler.

15 Connect the coolant top hose.

16 Connect the coolant bottom hose.

17 Connect the cooling fan electrical connector.

18 Install the RH halfshaft support.
Torque to: 25 Nm

19 Install the LH halfshaft.

20 With assistance, install the halfshaft to the hub.

21 Install the halfshafts.
Step 1: 45 Nm

Step 2: 80 degree

22 Connect the selector cable to the transmission.

23 Connect the low pressure line to the power steering pump.

24 Secure the A/C and power steering lines.

25 Install the A/C compressor.
Torque to: 25 Nm

26 Install the A/C compressor, upper support bracket.
M10: 45 Nm
M8: 25 Nm
M6: 10 Nm

27 Install the A/C compressor, lower support bracket.
Torque to: 25 Nm

28 Connect the brake booster vacuum hose.

29 Connect the ECM electrical connectors.

30 Install the starter motor.

31 Remove the front subframe assembly.

32 Install the lower engine stabilizer bar.

33 Remove the catalytic converters.
For additional information, refer to Catalytic Converter Service and Repair

34 Refill and bleed the cooling system.
For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Service and Repair

35 Install the air cleaner assembly.
For additional information, refer to Air Cleaner Service and Repair

36 Remove the battery tray.
For additional information, refer to Battery Tray Service and Repair

37 Remove the plenum box access panel.
For additional information, refer to Plenum Chamber Plenum Chamber

38 Remove the engine cover.
For additional information, refer to Engine Cover Service and Repair

39 Connect the battery ground cable and install the cover.
For additional information, refer to Specifications [1][2]Specifications

40 Refill and bleed the power steering.
For additional information, refer to Power Steering System Bleeding Service and Repair

41 Carry out the final halfshaft and suspension tightening with the vehicle on its wheels.
