Liftgate Finisher Repair Process

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:
The liftgate outer surface beneath the lower edge corners of the liftgate finisher may become scratched. This may be caused by lack of clearance between the liftgate surface and the liftgate finisher lower edge causing contact and abrasion.

Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to perform a modification to the liftgate finisher.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

FINISHER LIFTGATE UPPER MODIFICATION

1. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 501-03: Power Liftgate Switch, and perform steps 1-2 only.

2. Inspect for paint damage on the liftgate where the liftgate finisher is located:

^ If damage is evident, rectify as necessary as a separate claim.

^ If no damage is evident, continue to step 3.





NOTE:
Make sure the liftgate trim finisher surface is clean and free from dirt.

3. Install the two self adhesive buffers on the liftgate lift trim

4. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 501-03: Power Liftgate Switch, and perform steps 2-1 only.
