Water Ingress Through High-Mounted Stop Lamp

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:
Water may enter the vehicle through the high-mounted stop lamp area. This may be caused by water passing through the lamp seal.

Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to apply sealant to the high-mounted stop lamp.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

APPLY SEALANT TO THE HIGH-MOUNTED STOP LAMP

1. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 417-01: Exterior Lighting, and remove the high-mounted stop lamp for access.

2. Clean and dry the sealing faces of the lamp foam seal and vehicle body.





3. Apply a 3mm bead of sealant (STC50550) to the sealing face of the lamp seal.

CAUTION:
Allow 24 hours before power washing the vehicle.

4. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 417-01: Exterior Lighting, and install the high-mounted stop lamp.
