Active On-Demand Coupling Module
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal

NOTE:
If installing a new active on-demand coupling module the sensor and throttle valve must also be installed.

WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
1 Raise the vehicle on a lift.




2 Disconnect the electrical connectors.





CAUTION: Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.
Position a container to collect the fluid spillage.
Remove and discard the gasket.




Using a suitable tool, remove the throttle valve.




Using a suitable tool, remove the active on demand coupling sensor.

Installation





1 Install the new gasket.




2 Install the cupped washer to the sensor with the convex side against the sensor.





CAUTION: The throttle valve and sensor must be installed to the active on-demand coupling module before the assembly is installed to the active on-demand coupling. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle.

CAUTION: Make sure the component is aligned as shown.
3 Install the sensor and washer assembly.




4 Install the new throttle valve.





NOTE:
Lubricate the O-ring seal.
5 Install the active on-demand coupling module.
Torque to: 6 Nm
6 Connect the electrical connectors.
