Revised Front Differential Breather Cap Availability





AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:
A revised front differential breather cap is now available as a serviceable part. It is now necessary to install this revised breather cap when replacing a differential oil seal in the event of a front differential oil leak. The installation of the revised breather cap is only necessary once; for any possible future repairs it is not necessary to install another revised breather cap.

Action:
In the event of a front differential oil seal replacement, a revised front differential breather cap must also be installed.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

REPLACE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL BREATHER CAP





1. Identify the front differential breather tube. (Figure 1)

CAUTION:
Ensure the tube is cut at an angle.

NOTE:
The breather pipe must be cut 20 mm (0.80in) from the top of the filter cap.





2. Cut the breather filter off the breather tube. (Figure 2)

CAUTION:
Ensure the new breather points towards the rear of the vehicle.





3. Install the new breather cap (Figure 3):

^ Push the breather cap on as far as possible.
