Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal
NOTE:
The hydraulic control unit (HCU) mounted to the ABS module cannot be serviced separately. If the HCU requires replacement, then the ABS module must be replaced as a complete assembly.
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
1 Disconnect the battery ground cable.

CAUTION: Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.
CAUTION: Make sure that all openings are sealed. Use new blanking caps.
CAUTION: If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.
NOTE:
Note the position of the components prior to removal.
NOTE:
Some fluid spillage is inevitable during this operation.
Torque to: 18 Nm
NOTE:
Note the orientation of the locating pins.
Torque to: 9 Nm
NOTE:
Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
NOTE:

Loosen but do not remove the 2 retaining nuts.
Torque to: 9 Nm
Installation
All vehicles
CAUTION: If accidentally dropped or knocked install a new ABS module.
CAUTION: Make sure that these components are installed to the noted removal position.
NOTE:
Make sure the ABS module locating grommets are correctly seated in the retaining bracket before installing the ABS module.
NOTE:
Make sure the ABS module locating pin is correctly located in the grommet, and the 2 isolators are fully seated in the bracket slots.
1 To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Vehicles with standard brakes
2 Bleed the braking system.

3 Bleed the braking system.
