Engine MIL Illuminated with DTC P0126-26 / P0128-00 Stored
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: The engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) may be illuminated and Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0126-26 / P0128-00 stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM).
Cause: This may be caused by the engine temperature sensor being misread due to an airlock in the engine cooling system.
Action: In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below.

Land Rover-approved Midtronics Vehicle Power Supply
Refer to Workshop Manual / Repair Procedure for any required special tools.
WARRANTY:
Normal Warranty policies and procedures apply.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Check the coolant level and top up to the specified level if required.
2. Remove the coolant expansion tank cap.
3. Remove the high-level bleed screw as shown.
4. NOTE:
The coolant level will rise in the coolant tank and drain the upper coolant pipes.
Remove the coolant expansion tank bleed screw.
5. Remove the coolant elbow.
^ Disconnect and remove the quick fit elbow.
^ Release the securing clip.
*6. Install the new coolant hose (LR04428) and hose from kit LR040874:*
^ Connect to the T-piece.
^ Install the securing clip.
7. Secure the new hose to the fixing clip.
8. Run the new coolant hose under the air box intake pipe.
9. CAUTION:
Make sure no damage is caused to the vehicle when cutting the hose.
NOTE:
Hose shown already Cut.
Using a suitable tool, cut the coolant hose 25mm /1.0in from the second white line.
10. Install the new T-piece:
* Tighten / secure the two clamps.*
11. Secure the cooling hose with a suitable cable tie.
12. Install the high-level and coolant expansion tank bleed screws and coolant expansion tank cap.
13. Start the engine and allow the cooling system to self-bleed.
14. Read and clear all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).
