Installation






Transmission
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

CAUTION: Apply grease of the correct specification to the torque converter spigot.

CAUTION: Make sure the torque converter remains connected to the transmission.
1 With assistance, install the transmission.





Torque to: 40 Nm

Clean the component mating faces.
Torque to: 60 Nm

CAUTION: Only rotate the crankshaft clockwise.

NOTE:
Wheel shown removed for clarity.
Rotate the crankshaft clockwise to align the flexplate bolt holes.
Make sure that the alignment mark is visible through the inspection hole on installation of the first torque converter bolt.
Torque to: 63 Nm

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.

CAUTION: Make sure that all openings are sealed. Use new blanking caps.
Install new O-ring seals.
Torque to: 12 Nm

2 Lower the vehicle.
3 Connect the battery ground cable.
