Front Door: Service and Repair
FRONT DOORCOMPONENTS
DISASSEMBLY
1. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
HINT: Tape a screwdriver tip before use.
(a) Door inside handle bezel
(b) Armrest
(c) Armrest panel base upper
(d) Courtesy light
(e) Lower frame bracket garnish
2. REMOVE DOOR TRIM
(a) Remove the 3 screws from the door trim.
(b) Insert a screwdriver between the door and door trim to pry out.
(c) Pull the trim upward to remove it.
NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the door and door trim.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(d) Remove the 11 screws and armrest base from the door trim.
(e) Remove the inner weatherstrip from the door trim.
(f) Remove the 8 screws and door pocket from the door trim.
3. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
(a) Door belt moulding
HINT: Pry out the clip from the edge of the panel, and remove the moulding.
(b) Door weatherstrip
NOTICE: Do not pull strongly on the weatherstrip as it may tear.
(c) Door inside handle
(d) Door lock control relay
(e) Service hole cover
ASSEMBLY NOTICE: Do not block the trim clip sealing with the tape.
ASSEMBLY HINT: Bring out the link though the service hole cover.
(f) Door glass run
(g) Rear lower frame
4. REMOVE DOOR SPEAKER
Remove the 4 speaker and disconnect the connector, then remove the speaker.
5. REMOVE OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR
(a) Remove a clip and disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the 3 bolts and outside rear view mirror.
ASSEMBLY HINT: Adjust the equalizer arm up to down and tighten if where dimensions A and B, as shown are equal.
6. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
(a) Door glass
(b) Window regulator
Torque: 5.0 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 43 in.-lbf)
ASSEMBLY NOTICE: Do not apply grease to the spring.
ASSEMBLY HINT: Apply MP grease to the sliding surface and gears of the window regulator.
(c) Locking and opening control link
(d) Door lock
ASSEMBLY HINT: Apply adhesive to the 3 screws.
Part NO.08833-00070, THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 43 in.-lbf)
ASSEMBLY HINT: Apply MP grease to the sliding surface of the door lock.
(e) Door outside handle
(f) Door lock cylinder
REPLACEMENT
1. REPLACE FRONT DOOR GLASS
(a) Remove glass channel with screwdriver or similar object.
(b) Apply soapy water to inside of weatherstrip.
(c) Install channel by tapping it with plastic hammer.
REASSEMBLY
Reassembly is in the reverse order of disassembly.
