Introduction

The following repair procedures were developed to help eliminate potential rattles from the Glove Box area on 1998 LX 470s.

Applicable Warranty*:

This repair is covered under the Lexus Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's complaint.

Repair Procedure

Glove Box Rattle (No. 1)





To help eliminate a rattle noise caused by movement of the instrument panel wire harness and connector, attach a piece of foam, L: 30 mm, W: 20 mm, and T: 5 mm from the Interior Noise Kit (P/N 08231-00801) to the instrument panel wire harness and attach two pieces of foam, L: 90 mm,





W: 40 mm, and T: 5 mm, to both connectors as shown.

Repair Procedure

Glove Box Rattle (No. 2)








To help eliminate noise caused by movement of the instrument panel wire harness connector, attach a piece of foam, size L: 140 mm, W: 40 mm, and T: 5 mm, from the Interior Noise Kit (P/N 08231- 00801) to the wire connector as shown.
