Introduction
The following information outlines single and two-tone painting schemes used on the 1998 LX 470.

Painting Method
Single Color:
The cladding and bumpers are painted the same color as the body.
Two-tone Color:
The cladding and bumpers are painted with a different color than the body to achieve a two-tone painting scheme.

Repair Procedure
Since heat deformation of the cladding occurs more easily than with bumpers, repair and refinishing of cladding panels is not recommended. If original parts are to be refinished, observe the following precautions during the refinish/drying process:
1. To prevent cladding warpage, firmly hold the cladding in place and keep drying temperature below 50°C (122°F)
2. Since the cladding and bumpers are made of a flexible plastic urethane material, use a 2-part urethane finish paint system with plasticizer for all bumper/cladding repairs.
