Introduction

To reduce the possibility of squeal noise from the rear brakes the production method of the rear disc brake pad has been changed.

* Visually inspect shims for heat discoloration. If discolored, replace.





Repair Procedure

Check the production date embossed on the metal backing plate of the brake pads, as shown above. Production dates after 8X29 are effective for eliminating the squeal noise.

This repair is covered under the Lexus Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
