Dash Board Removal and Installation
REMOVAL1. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANELS
Using a screwdriver, remove the instrument side panels.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE SCUFF PLATES
Insert a screwdriver between the front door inside scuff plate and body to pry the scuff plate.
HINT:
- Do the same for LH and RH.
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
3. FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIMS
4. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISHES
Insert a screwdriver between the body and front pillar garnishes to pry the garnishes.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIMS
Remove the 2 clips and cowl side trims.
6. REMOVE NO.1 AND NO.2 SPEAKER PANELS
HINT: Do the same for LH and RH.
a. Insert a screwdriver between the speaker panel and instrument panel safety pad to pry the speaker panel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Disconnect the connector.
7. REMOVE NO.2 UNDER COVER
Using a screwdriver, remove the No.2 under cover.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
8. DISCONNECT AIRBAG CONNECTOR
a. Using a screwdriver, pry out the glove compartment door finish plate.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the airbag connector from the glove compartment door finish plate.
c. Disconnect the airbag connector.
NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
9. REMOVE NO.2 LOWER PANEL
Remove the 2 bolts, 2 screws and No.2 lower panel.
10. w/ CD Changer:
REMOVE CD CHANGER
a. Remove the 4 nuts and CD changer.
b. Disconnect the connectors.
11. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
Torque:
Bolt: 20 N.m (205 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
Nut: 5.6 N.m (57 kgf.cm, 50 in.lbf)
a. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
b. Remove the front passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel.
CAUTION:
- Do not store the front passenger airbag assembly with the airbag deployment side facing down.
- Never disassemble the front passenger airbag assembly.
NOTE: At the time of installation, please refer to the following items.
- Make sure that the front passenger airbag assemble, is installed to the specified torque
- If the front passenger airbag assembly has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the front passenger airbag assembly with a new one.
- When installing the front passenger airbag assembly, take care that the wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
12. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL AND PAD
13. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVERS
14. REMOVE LOWER FINISH PLATE
Using a screwdriver, remove the lower finish plate.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
15. REMOVE LOWER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
a. Remove a screwdriver, remove the lower cluster finish panel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Disconnect the connector.
16. REMOVE LOWER FINISH PANEL
a. Remove the 2 screws and hood lock release lever, then disconnect the hood lock control cable from the lever.
b. Using a screwdriver, open the bolt cover.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
c. Remove the 2 bolts and lower finish panel.
17. REMOVE LOWER INSERT
Remove the 2 bolts and lower insert.
18. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN
19. REMOVE LOWER CENTER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the lower center cluster finish panel with the ornament.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Disconnect the connector.
c. Remove the 6 screws and lower center cluster finish panel from the ornament.
20. REMOVE CENTER FLOOR CARPET COVERS
a. Remove a clip and center floor carpet cover LH.
b. Remove the 2 clips and center floor carpet cover RH.
21. REMOVE LOWER CENTER FINISH PANEL
Remove the 6 screws and lower center finish panel.
22. REMOVE CENTER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
a. Remove the 4 bolts.
b. Using a screwdriver, remove the center cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
c. Disconnect the connectors and cables.
d. Remove the 4 screws and multi display assembly.
e. Remove the 4 screws and radio assembly.
23. REMOVE CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
a. Remove the 2 screws.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Using a screwdriver, remove the cluster finish panel.
c. Disconnect the connector.
24. REMOVE COMBINATION METER
a. Remove the 3 screws and combination meter.
b. Disconnect the connector.
25. REMOVE LOWER RETAINERS
Remove the 2 bolts and lower retainers.
26. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the shift control link from the floor shift assembly.
b. Disconnect the connectors.
c. Remove the 4 nuts and floor shift assembly.
27. REMOVE AIR DUCTS
28. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD
a. Disconnect the connectors.
b. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and instrument panel safety pad.
29. REMOVE NO.1 BRACE
a. Remove the 2 nuts and shift control link.
b. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and No.1 brace.
30. REMOVE NO.2 BRACE
Remove the 3 bolts, 2 nuts and No.2 brace.
31. REMOVE REINFORCEMENT
a. Remove the 2 nuts and body ECU.
b. Remove the 2 nuts and ABS ECU.
c. Remove the pedal return spring
d. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and instrument panel J/B.
e. Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts and reinforcement.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
