Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection
1. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY
Check that the throttle linkage moves smoothly.
2. INSPECT THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
a. Check that there is no clearance between each throttle stop screw and the throttle lever when applying the negative pressure (53.3 kPa (400 mm Hg) to the throttle opener using the mighty vac.
b. Apply vacuum to the throttle opener.
c. Disconnect the sensor connector.
d. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between each terminal.
e. Reconnect the sensor connector.
