DISASSEMBLY1. REMOVE UPPER BACK DOOR WINDOW PANEL TRIM
a. Insert a screwdriver between the back door panel and upper back door window panel trim to pry the trim.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Disconnect the connector.
c. Remove the high-mounted stop light from the upper back door window panel trim.
2. REMOVE UPPER BACK DOOR TRIM
Insert a screwdriver between the back door panel and upper back door trim to pry the trim.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
3. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVERS
Insert a screwdriver between the back door panel and back door trim cover to pry the cover.
HINT:
- Do the same for LH and RH.
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
4. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD
Insert a screwdriver between the back door panel and back door trim board to pry the trim board.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
5. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM
Remove the nut and rear wiper arm.
6. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR
a. Remove the nut and washer on the outer side of back door panel.
b. Disconnect the connector.
c. Loosen the 3 bolts and remove the rear wiper motor.
7. REMOVE REAR COMBINATION LIGHTS
HINT: Do the same for LH and RH.
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 4 nuts, combination light and packing.
8. REMOVE KEY CYLINDER
a. Disconnect the connector and link.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and key cylinder.
9. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK CONTROL
a. Remove the 2 bolts and back door lock control.
b. Disconnect the cable.
10. REMOVE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR
a. Disconnect the link from the door lock.
b. Remove the 2 nuts and door lock actuator.
c. Disconnect the connector.
11. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 4 bolts and back door lock.
12. REMOVE LICENSE LIGHT COVERS
Remove the 2 screws and 2 license light covers.
13. REMOVE BACK DOOR GARNISH
a. Remove the 2 nuts and outside handle.
b. Remove the nut.
C. Insert a screwdriver between the back door panel and back door garnish to pry the garnish.
14. REMOVE BACK DOOR PULL HANDLE
REASSEMBLY
1. INSTALL BACK DOOR PULL HANDLE
2. INSTALL BACK DOOR GARNISH
a. Install the back door garnish with the nut.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
b. Install the outside handle with the 2 nuts,
Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
3. INSTALL LICENSE LIGHT COVERS
Install the 2 license light covers with the 2 screws.
4. INSTALL BACK DOOR LOCK
HINT: Apply MP grease to the sliding surface of the back door lock.
a. Connect the connector.
b. Install the back door lock with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)
5. INSTALL DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR
a. Connect the connector.
b. Install the door lock actuator with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
c. Connect the link from the back door lock.
6. INSTALL BACK DOOR LOCK CONTROL
a. Connect the cable.
b. Install the back door lock control with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
7. INSTALL KEY CYLINDER
a. Install the key cylinder with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
b. Connect the connector and link.
8. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHTS
HINT: Use the same manner described above to the other side.
a. Install the combination light and packing with the 4 nuts.
b. Connect the connector.
9. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR
a. Install the rear wiper motor and tighten the 3 bolts.
Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)
b. Connect the connector.
c. Install the washer and nut on the outer side of back door panel.
Torque: 12 N.m (122 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf)
10. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM
a. Install the wiper arm and tighten the nut by hand. Operate the wiper once and turn the wiper switch OFF.
b. Adjust the installation position of the wiper arm to the position as shown in the illustration.
A: 400 mm (15.75 in.)
B: 6.5 mm (0.256 in.)
C: 0 mm (0 in.)
D: 130 degrees
c. Install the rear wiper arm with the nut.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
11. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD
Install the back door trim board to the back door panel.
12. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM COVERS
Install the trim covers to the body.
13. INSTALL UPPER BACK DOOR TRIM
Install the upper back door trim to the back door panel.
14. INSTALL UPPER BACK DOOR WINDOW PANEL TRIM
a. Install the high-mounted stop light to the upper back door window panel trim.
b. Connect the connector, then install the upper back door window panel trim.
