Removal and Installation

Airbag Sensor Assembly:






REMOVAL

NOTE: Do not open the cover or the case of the ECU and various electrical devices unless absolutely necessary.
(If the IC terminals are touched, the IC may be destroyed by static electricity.)

1. REMOVE LOWER FINISH PANEL
a. Remove the front door scuff plate LH.
b. Remove the clip and cowl side trim LH.
c. Remove the lower finish plate.
d. Remove the lower center finish panel.
e. Remove the 2 bolts and lower finish panel.
f. Disconnect the hook lock control cable.

2. REMOVE LOWER NO.2 PANEL
a. Remove the front door scuff plate RH.
b. Remove the clip and cowl side trim RH.
c. Remove the No.2 under cover.
d. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 screws and lower No.2 panel.

3. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the center lower cluster finish panel.
b. Remove the 3 clips and center floor carpet covers.
c. Remove the 6 screws and lower center finish panel.
d. Disconnect the shift control cable.
e. Disconnect the 3 connectors.




f. Remove the 4 nuts and floor shift assembly.

4. REMOVE NO.1 BRACE
a. Remove the 2 nuts and shift control cable bracket.
b. Remove the 2 nuts, 3 bolts and No.1 brace.
c. Remove the air ducts.




5. REMOVE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the airbag sensor connectors.

NOTE: Remove the connectors with the airbag sensor assembly installed.

b. Using a torx wrench, remove the 3 screws and airbag sensor assembly.

Torx wrench: T40 (Part No.09042-00020 or locally manufactured tool)

INSTALLATION

NOTE:
- Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace them with new parts.
- Never reuse the airbag sensor assembly involved in a collision when the airbag has deployed.
- Never repair a sensor in order to reuse it.




1. INSTALL AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
a. Using a torx wrench, install the airbag sensor assembly with the 3 screws.

Torx wrench: T40 (Part No.09042-00020 or locally manufactured tool)

Torque: 21 N.m (210 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the airbag sensor connectors.

NOTE:
- Installation of the connector is done after the sensor assembly has been installed.
- Make sure the sensor assembly is installed with the specified torque.
- If the sensor assembly has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the sensor assembly with a new one.
- When installing the senor assembly, take care that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
- After installing, shake the sensor assembly to check that there is no looseness.
- Check there is no interference with the shift cable.

2. INSTALL NO.1 BRACE
a. Install air ducts.
b. Install the No.1 brace with the 3 bolts and 2 nuts.
c. Install the shift control cable bracket with the 2 nuts.




3. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY
a. Install the floor shift assembly with the 4 nuts.
b. Connect the 3 connectors.
c. Connect the shift control cable.
d. Install the lower center finish panel with the 6 screws.
e. Install the center floor carpet covers with the 3 clips.
f. Install the center lower cluster finish panel.

4. INSTALL LOWER NO.2 PANEL
a. Install the lower No.2 panel with the 2 bolts and 2 screws.
b. Install the No.2 under cover.
c. Install the cowl side trim RH with the clip.
d. Install front door scuff plate RH.

5. INSTALL LOWER FINISH PANEL
a. Connect the hood lock control cable.
b. Install the lower finish panel with the 2 bolts.
c. Install the lower center finish panel.
d. Install the lower finish plate.
e. Install the cowl side trim LH with the clip.
f. Install the front door scuff plate LH.
