Some 2002 - 2003 model year RX 300 vehicles may exhibit a vibration feeling when applying the brakes. A new brake pad material has been developed to improve this condition.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2002 - 2003 model year RX300 vehicles.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
Replace the front brake pads, by following the procedure in the 2002 - 2003 RX 300 Repair Manual on ETAS.

Subsection: Front Brake Pad; Replacement
NOTE:
- Resurface the front disc brake rotor, to within serviceable limit:
Standard Thickness: 28.0 mm (1.102 in.)
Minimum Thickness: 26.0 mm (1.024 in.)
If the rotor is being replaced, check the new part for run-out:
Maximum disc runout: 0.05mm (0.0020 in.) If run-out is more than 0.05mm, then perform the phase matching procedure.
- When replacing worn pads, the anti-squeal shims and pad wear indicators plates must be replaced together with the new pads.
