TRAILER WIRE HARNESS

Starting December 1999, the RX 300 came equipped with a new trailer wire harness with a new converter.

A complete kit of the new trailer wire harness will be available as a service part for retrofitting RX 300 vehicles equipped with the previous wire harness.

The intent of this service bulletin is to:
- Provide a Parts Description checklist so that the new trailer harness may be identified.
- Show the vehicle location map of the new trailer harness and the previous trailer harness for repair, maintenance, and retrofitting of older vehicles equipped with the previous trailer wire harness.
- Provide a procedure for replacement of the new trailer harness fuse.

FUSE REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE:







If only the tail lamp at the trailer side is not lit when the tail lamp is turned on, the fuse (5A) in the Trailer Wire Harness could be blown out. In this case, carry out replacement of the fuse.







1. Open the cover of the fuse case. (See Figure 1.)
2. Remove and discard the fuse (old) from the fuse Case. (See Figure 2.)
3. Install the fuse (new) to the fuse case, and close the cover of the fuse case. (See Figure 3.)
