Exterior Moulding / Trim: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. FRONT FENDER MOULDING
a. Remove the 3 screws and front mudguard.
b. Remove the screw.
c. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
d. Cut the adhesive tape with a knife.
NOTE: Do not damage the body.
e. Insert a screwdriver between the body and moulding to pry the moulding.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
2. REMOVE OUTSIDE FRONT DOOR MOULDING
a. Remove the 2 nuts.
b. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
c. Cut the adhesive tape with a knife.
NOTE: Do not damage the body.
d. Insert a screwdriver between the body and moulding to pry the moulding.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
e. Remove the 4 screws and lower front door outside moulding from the outside front door moulding.
3. REMOVE OUTSIDE REAR DOOR MOULDING
a. Remove the 3 nuts.
b. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
c. Cut the adhesive tape with a knife.
NOTE: Do not damage the body.
d. Insert a screwdriver between the body and moulding to pry the moulding.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
e. Remove the 3 screws and lower rear door outside moulding from the outside rear door moulding.
4. REMOVE OUTSIDE QUARTER MOULDING
a. Remove the 3 screws.
b. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
c. Cut the adhesive tape with a knife.
NOTE: Do not damage the body.
d. Insert a screwdriver between the body and moulding to pry the moulding.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL OUTSIDE QUARTER MOULDING
a. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).
b. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
c. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
d. If reusing the moulding:
Clean the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
2. Remove the adhesive tape from the moulding.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
4. Apply a new adhesive tape to the moulding as shown in the illustration.
e. Using a heat light, heat the body and moulding.
Body: 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F)
Moulding: 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F)
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
f. Lift the moulding release sheet face of moulding.
NOTE: When the moulding release sheet is removed, make sure that no dirt or dust can get onto the uncoated area.
g. Install the outside quarter moulding with the 3 screws.
2. INSTALL OUTSIDE REAR DOOR MOULDING
a. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).
b. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
c. Wiper off stains with cleaner.
d. If reusing the moulding:
Clean the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
2. Remove the adhesive tape from the moulding.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
4. Apply a new adhesive tape to the moulding as shown in the illustration.
e. Install the lower rear door outside moulding with the 2 screws to the outside rear door moulding.
f. Using a heat light, heat the body and moulding.
Body: 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F)
Moulding: 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F)
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
g. Lift the moulding release sheet from face of moulding.
NOTE: When the moulding release sheet it removed, make sure that no dirt or dust can get onto the uncoated area.
h. Install the outside rear door moulding with the 3 nuts.
3. INSTALL OUTSIDE FRONT DOOR MOULDING
a. Using a heat light, the body mounting surface to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).
b. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
c. Wiper off stains with cleaner.
d. If reusing the moulding:
Clean the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
2. Remove the adhesive tape from the moulding.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
4. Apply a new adhesive tape to the moulding as shown in the illustration.
e. Install the lower front door outside moulding with the 4 screws to the outside front door moulding.
f. Using a heat light, heat the body and moulding.
Body: 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F)
Moulding: 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F)
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
g. Lift the moulding release sheet from face of moulding.

h. Install the outside front door moulding with the 2 nuts.
4. INSTALL FENDER MOULDING
a. Using a heat light, the body mounting surface to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).
b. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
c. Wiper off stains with cleaner.
d. If reusing the moulding:
Clean the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
2. Remove the adhesive tape from the moulding.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
4. Apply a new adhesive tape to the moulding as shown in the illustration.
e. Using a heat light, heat the body and moulding.
