Repair Procedure
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) and replace the pads by following the procedure in the 2002 or 2003 model year RX 300 Repair Manual: Brake: Front Brake Pad: Replacement.
NOTE:
Resurface the front disc brake rotor, using a Lexus approved "On-Car" Brake Lathe*, to within serviceable limit:
Standard Thickness: 28.0 mm (1.102 in.)
Minimum Thickness: 26.0 mm (1.024 in.)
If the rotor is being replaced, check the new part for run-out:
Maximum disc runout: 0.05 mm (0.0020 in.) If run-out is more than 0.05 mm, then perform the phase matching procedure.
When replacing worn pads, the anti-squeal shims and pad wear indicator plates must be replaced together with the new pads.
