System Inspection
INSPECTION1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o RETRACT MIRROR)
a. The L side of the left/right adjustment switch:
Inspect the mirror switch continuity.
Standard (Left side):
If the result is not as specified replace the switch assembly.
b. The R side of the left/right adjustment switch:
Inspect the mirror switch continuity.
Standard (Right side):
If the result is not as specified replace the switch assembly.
c. When the left/right adjustment switch is off:
Inspect the mirror switch continuity.
Standard (Adjustment switch off):
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.
d. Inspect operation of the mirror switch illumination.
Standard:
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly or bulb.
2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH
a. Disconnect the mirror connector.
b. Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the mirror face, as shown in the table and illustration.
Standard (LH):
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (W/ SEAT MEMORY SWITCH)
a. Disconnect the mirror connector.
b. Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the mirror face, as shown in the table and illustration.
Standard (LH):
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
c. Inspect operation of the mirror position sensor.
1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the ohmmeter to terminal 9 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 15, and measure the resistance.
Standard: 700-1300 ohm
2. Check that the resistance between terminals 9 and 10 changes when slowly turning the mirror face right and left.
3. Check that the resistance between terminals 9 and 16 changes when slowly turning the mirror face right and left.
4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH
a. Disconnect the mirror connector.
b. Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the mirror face, as shown in the table and illustration.
Standard (RH):
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
5. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH (W/ SEAT MEMORY SWITCH)
a. Disconnect the mirror connector.
b. Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the mirror face, as shown in the table and illustration.
Standard (RH):
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
c. Inspect operation of the mirror position sensor.
1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the ohmmeter to terminal 9 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 15, and measure the resistance.
Standard: 7OO-13OO ohm
2. Check that the resistance between terminals 9 and 10 changes when slowly turning the mirror face right and left.
3. Check that the resistance between terminals 9 and 16 changes when slowly turning the mirror face right and left.
6. INSPECT SEAT MEMORY SWITCH (W/ SEAT MEMORY SWITCH)
a. Inspect the seat memory switch continuity.
Standard:
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.
7. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector from the mirror control ECU assembly.
b. Check the voltage or continuity of each terminal of the wire harness side connector.
Standard:
If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.
c. Connect the connector to the mirror control ECU assembly.
d. Check the voltage or continuity of each terminal of the wire harness side connector.
Standard:
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly
Standard:
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly or the multiplex control may malfunction.
Standard:
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror control ECU assembly.
