ROOF RACK END COVER DAMAGE

Introduction

Some customers may notice the end covers of the roof rack are damaged or missing. New parts have been developed to prevent the cross bars from traveling too far back and damaging or dislodging the end covers.

Applicable Vehicles:
^ 2003 - 2006 model year GX 470 vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown below.

Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty:

This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure





1. Remove the right and left side roof rack end covers.

2. Install the right and left stoppers into the roof rail.





3. Install the right and left rear roof rack end covers as shown in the illustration.

A. Insert the tab at the front of the cover into the roof rack rail.

B. Place the cover on the rack end and align the rear part of the cover.

Do NOT press down.

C. Press the cover claws facing the outside of the vehicle into place.

D. Press the cover claws facing the inside of the vehicle into place.

4. Check that the covers are installed securely.
