1 Using a gasket scraper, remove all the old packing (FIPG) material from the gasket surfaces and sealing groove.
2 Thoroughly clean all components to remove all the loose material.
3 Using a non-residue solvent, clean both sealing surfaces.

b. Apply seal packing to the oil pump as shown in the illustration.
Seal packing: Part No. 08826-00080 or equivalent
Standard seal diameter: 3 to 4 mm (0.12 to 0.16 inch)

NOTICE:
^ Wipe off any oil from the contact surface.
^ Install the oil pump within 3 minutes and tighten the bolts within 15 minutes after applying seal packing.
^ Do not expose the seal to engine oil for at least an hour after installing it.

c. Apply engine oil to a new O-ring.

d. Install the O-ring to the cylinder block.
e. Align the spline teeth of the oil pump drive gear with the large teeth of the crankshaft, and slide the oil pump onto the crankshaft.

Standard Bolt Length:

f. Install the oil pump with the 8 bolts. Uniformly tighten the bolts in several passes.
Torque: 15.5 Nm (158 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.) for bolt A, B, C and E
30.5 Nm (311 kgf-cm, 22 ft. lbs.) for bolt D
