Initialization

INITIALIZATION
1. INITIALIZATION

NOTICE:
^ Initialization is necessary after replacing the ECU, tires with tires of different pressures or a tire pressure monitor valve sub-assembly, after rotating the tires, or when a new vehicle is delivered.
^ Perform the tire pressure adjustment after the vehicle has sufficiently cooled down. If the vehicle is not sufficiently cooled down, increase the air pressure by 20 to 30 kPa in addition to the specified value.

a. Set the tire air pressure for all wheels (including the spare tire) to the specified value.

Standard Pressure:

b. Keep the tire pressure warning reset switch pressed for 3 seconds or more with the ignition switch ON.

c. Check that the tire pressure warning light blinks 3 times (1 second ON, 1 second OFF).

HINT:
^ Do not turn the ignition switch OFF during initialization (the initialization process takes about 10 minutes).
^ Initialization will be completed if signals are received from all the wheels. Initialization will be canceled if the ignition switch is turned OFF during initialization.
^ In winter, as the tire pressure may decrease depending on the ambient temperature, increase the air pressure by 20 to 30 kPa above the specified value 10 minutes after the initialization with the ignition switch ON.

d. Confirm that initialization is completed using the intelligent tester.
e. Check that the pressure for each tire is displayed in INIT THRESHOLD 1 to 5.
f. Initialization is completed.
