Registration

REGISTRATION
1. IN CASE OF TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR ECU REPLACEMENT
a. Read ID stored in the old ECU using the intelligent tester.
2. IN CASE OF TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY AND/OR TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR ECU REPLACEMENT
a. Read ID written on the tire pressure monitor valve sub-assembly.
3. REGISTER TRANSMITTER ID

NOTICE: It is necessary to register the transmitter ID in the tire pressure monitor ECU when replacing the tire pressure monitor valve sub-assembly and/or tire pressure monitor ECU.

a. Set the tire pressure of all wheels (including the spare tire) to the specified value.

Standard Pressure:

b. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
c. Turn the ignition switch ON.

d. *1: Read and write down the ID (ID1 to ID5) by using the DATA LIST

e. *2: Select the REGIST TIRE following the intelligent tester screen (UTILITY - REGIST TIRE).
f. *3: Select the registration mode MAIN.

HINT: Select 2nd when registering in 2nd.

g. Input the ID (ID 1 to ID 5) using the intelligent tester and transmit it to the tire pressure monitor ECU.

h. Set the ID transmission condition to ID Registration is complete.

HINT: If the operations Of *1 to *3 are not completed within 5 minutes, the mode will return to normal operation mode.

4. CONFIRMATION OF TRANSMITTER ID REGISTRATION
a. Set the tire pressure of all wheels (including the spare tire) to the specified value.

Standard Pressure:

b. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
c. Turn the ignition switch ON.
d. Select SIGNAL CHECK mode on the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM).
e. Perform forced transmission of the transmitter IDs for all wheels.
1. When rapidly reducing the pressure, remove the valve core (above 40 kPa (0.4 kgf/cm2, 5.8 psi) / 30 sec.).

HINT: The transmitter ID can be transmitted by rapidly reducing the tire air pressure.

2. Perform the steps mentioned above to all tires.

HINT: When rapidly reducing the pressure, remove the valve core (above 40 kPa (0.4 kgf/cm2, 5.8 psi / 30 sec.).

f. Check that test mode DTCs C2181/81, C2182/82, C2183/83, C2184/84 and C2185/85 are all erased.

HINT:
^ The transmitter ID registration is completed when the test mode DTCs are erased.
^ If they have not been erased, reset the tire pressure to the specified value and rotate the tire 90 to 270 degrees. Then perform forced transmission of the transmitter IDs of all wheels. If they are still output, register the transmitter IDs.
^ If the ID cannot be registered, short circuit the TC and CG terminals of the DLC3.

g. Set the tire pressure of all wheels to the specified value.
5. PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINING THE INSTALLED WHEEL'S TRANSMITTER ID STATUS (MAIN OR 2ND)
a. Turn the ignition switch ON.
b. Set the tire pressure select switch to the MAIN position.
c. Set the tire pressure of all wheels (including the spare tire) to the specified value.

Standard Pressure:

d. Rapidly reduce the pressure of any wheel to 120 kPa (1.2 kgf/cm2, 17 psi).
e. Check the following items. If both of them are true, the transmitter ID of the currently installed wheel is registered in the MAIN.
^ Tire pressure warning light comes on.
^ The tire pressure of any tire is 120 kPa (1.2 kgf/cm2, 17 psi) when measured with the intelligent tester.
f. If either of the conditions is not true, switch the tire pressure select switch to 2nd and check both of the items above. If both are true, the transmitter ID of the currently installed wheel is registered in 2nd.
