Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS)
INSPECTION1. INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS)
a. With 39.9 kPa (300 mmHg, 11.8 in.Hg) of vacuum applied to the actuator, check that the actuator rod moves.
b. One minute after applying the vacuum in the step above, check that the actuator rod does not return. If the operation is not as specified, replace the intake manifold.
2. INSPECT VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY
a. Measure the resistance of the VSV.
If the result is not as specified, replace the VSV assembly.
b. Check the operation of the VSV.
1. Check that air does not flow from port E to port F.
2. Apply battery voltage across terminals 1 and 2.
3. Check that air flows from port E to port F.
If the result is not as specified, replace the VSV assembly.
