Rear Speed Sensor

REAR SPEED SENSOR

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL

HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
^ The procedures listed are for the LH side.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
3. REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR LH





a. Disconnect the speed sensor connector.
b. Remove the clamp bolt from the upper control bracket.
c. Remove the 6 resin clips holding the sensor wire harness to the frame, upper control arm and axle housing.





d. Remove the bolt and speed sensor.

NOTICE: Keep the sensor tip and sensor installation hole free from foreign matter.

INSTALLATION

HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
^ The procedures listed are for the LH side.





1. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR LH
a. Install the speed sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.)

NOTICE: Keep the sensor tip and sensor installation hole free from foreign matter.

b. Install the sensor wire harness to the frame, upper control arm and axle housing with the 6 resin clips.

NOTICE: Do not twist the sensor wire when installing it.

c. Install the clamp bolt to the upper control bracket.
Torque: 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE: Do not twist the sensor wire when installing it.

d. Connect the speed sensor connector.

NOTICE: Do not twist the sensor wire when installing it.





2. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

5. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
a. Check the ABS speed sensor signal.
