ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT JAM PROTECTION FUNCTION

CAUTION: Be careful that any part of your body is not caught when checking.

HINT: In the case of resetting the limit switch, perform checking after repeating the up and down operation of the glass with automatic operation.

a. Confirmation of AUTO up operation:
Confirm that the window can be fully closed with AUTO up operation.
b. Checking the operation of the jam protection function:
1. Move the window up with AUTO up operation and check that the window goes down when it touches the hammer handle.
2. Confirm that the window stops going down at about 200 mm (7.87 in.).

HINT: In the case of removing the glass, glass guide, regulator, etc.., be sure to perform the check of the jam protection function. If the jam protection does not function properly, adjust the power window motor reset switch and the pulse switch.

2. ADJUST POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (JAM PROTECTION RESET SWITCH AND PULSE SWITCH)

HINT:
- If the jam protection does not function properly, perform the following procedure.
- It is necessary to reset the power window motor (in the initial position for the limit switch) when separating the window regulator from the power window motor or operating the window regulator with the door glass not installed.

a. Remove the power window regulator motor assembly.

HINT: Place the matchmarks on the power window motor and the window regulator gear.

b. Connect the power window motor and the power window switch to the wire harness of the vehicle.
c. Turn the ignition switch ON and operate the power window switch to idle the power window motor in the up direction for more than 6 rotations or 4 seconds.
d. Assemble the power window motor and the regulator.

HINT:
- Install the motor when the regulator arm is below the middle point.
- Align the matchmarks on the power window motor and the window regulator gear when installing the power window motor.

e. Assemble the power window regulator and the door glass.

HINT: Never rotate the motor in the down direction until the window glass installation is completed.

f. Connect the power window switch to the wire harness and turn the ignition switch ON.
g. Repeat the UP and DOWN operation several times manually.
h. Check if AUTO UP -> AUTO DOWN operates in automatic operation.

HINT:
- Take care because the jam protection function does not operate just after resetting.
- Reset the regulator again when performing the reverse operation after closing the window fully using the AUTO UP operation.

i. Check the power window function.
