INITIALIZATION OF POWER BACK DOOR DURING PDS

'06 RX 400h

Introduction

Initialize the power back door after installing the Short Pin in its original location during Pre-Delivery Service (PDS).





As a result of the removal of the Short Pin, the "automatic open and close" and "jam protection" functions of the power back door will be inoperative due to loss of the power back door position memory stored in the microcomputer.

NOTE:
Any time the battery terminal has been disconnected, initialize the power back door after reconnecting the battery terminal.

^ 2006 model year RX 400h vehicles.

Initialization Procedure

1. Fully close the power back door.

2. Cycle power back door to fully open and fully closed position.

A. Unlock the power back door using the 'UNLOCK' button on the transmitter switch or the door control switch.

B. Check that the ignition switch is in the "OFF" position, and make sure the power back door off switch is in the ON position.





C. Fully open and fully close the power back door by pushing the power back door switch (open/close) or the "PWR DOOR" button briefly on the transmitter switch.

NOTE:
Jam protection function is enabled through the above initialization procedure.
