Front
FRONT BRAKEINSPECTION
1. INSPECT BRAKE CYLINDER AND PISTON
a. Check the brake cylinder bore and the brake piston for rust or scoring.
2. INSPECT PAD LINING THICKNESS
a. Using a ruler, measure the pad lining thickness.
Minimum thickness: 1.0 mm (0.039 inch)
Standard thickness: 11.0 mm (0.394 inch)
3. INSPECT FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE NO. 1
a. Make sure that the pad support plate No. 1 has sufficient rebound, has no deformation, cracks or wear, and that all rust and dirt are cleaned off. If necessary, replace the brake pad support plate No. 1.
b. Clean the contact surface of the pad support plate of the disc brake cylinder mounting before installing. After installation, check that there is no looseness or deformation.
c. When installing the pad, check that the support has sufficient rebound and the pad does not fall out easily.
4. INSPECT FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE NO. 2
a. Make sure that the pad support plate No. 2 has sufficient rebound, has no deformation, cracks or wear, and that all rust and dirt are cleaned off. If necessary, replace the brake pad support plate No. 2.
5. INSPECT DISC THICKNESS
a. Using a micrometer, measure the disc thickness.
Minimum thickness: 26.0mm (1.024 inch)
Standard thickness: 28.0mm (1.102 inch)
b. If the disc thickness is less than the minimum, replace the front disc.
