Front Speed Sensor

FRONT SPEED SENSOR





REMOVAL
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the bolts, screws, clips and front fender splash shield sub-assembly.





3. REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR
a. Disconnect the front speed sensor connector.
b. Remove the 2 bolts from the body and the shock absorber assembly.
c. Remove the clamp from the steering knuckle.





d. Remove the bolt and the front speed sensor.

NOTICE:
^ Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
^ Clean the installation hole and the surface for the speed sensor every time the speed sensor is removed.

INSPECTION
1. INSPECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR
a. Inspect the front speed sensor. If any of the following occurs, replace the front speed sensor with a new one:
^ The surface of the front speed sensor is cracked, dented, or chipped off.
^ The connector or wire harness is scratched, cracked, or damaged.
^ The front speed sensor has been dropped.




Resistance LH:








b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.

Resistance LH:




Resistance RH:





c. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR
a. Install the front speed sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.)

NOTICE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.





b. Install the front speed sensor with the 2 bolts and the clamp.
Torque:
Bolt A 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.)
Bolt B 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE: Do not twist the wire harness for the front speed sensor when installing the speed sensor.

c. Connect the front speed sensor connector.
2. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB ASSEMBLY
a. Install the front fender splash shield sub-assembly with the bolts, screws, and clips.
3. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
4. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
