TIRE AND WHEEL: TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM: TC and CG Terminal Circuit

TC and CG Terminal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

DTC output mode is set by connecting terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3. The DTCs are indicated by blinks of the tire pressure warning light.

WIRING DIAGRAM

HINT: When each warning light blinks continuously, a ground short in the wiring of terminal TC of the DLC3 or an internal ground short in an ECU connected to this circuit may have occurred.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: It is necessary to register an ID code if replacing one of the tire pressure warning valve and transmitters and/or the tire pressure warning ECU Removal.
HINT: This circuit uses CAN communication. Therefore, if there are any malfunctions in the communication circuit, one or more DTCs in the CAN communication system are output.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Check it a DTC of the multiplex communication system is output.
Result:

B -- REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCs
A -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

(a) Disconnect the H29 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the M5 multi-display connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT DLC3 TERMINAL VOLTAGE

(a) Reconnect the H29 ECU connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:

NG -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
OK -- REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU
