Installation








DRIVE SHAFT: REAR DRIVE SHAFT (for 4WD):

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
(a) Align the matchmarks.






(b) Install the rear drive shaft assembly with the 4 nuts and washers.
Torque: 56 Nm (571 kgf-cm, 41 ft-lbf)
2. INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

3. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.2 Installation

4. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.1 Installation

5. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY Installation

6. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY Installation

7. INSTALL REAR DISC Reassembly

8. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY Installation

9. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR Installation

10. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT
(a) Clean the threaded parts on the drive shaft and axle shaft nut using a non-residue solvent.
NOTICE:
- Be sure to perform this work for a new drive shaft.
- Keep the threaded parts free of oil and foreign objects.

(b) Using a socket wrench (30mm), install a new rear axle shaft nut.
Torque: 294 Nm (3,000 kgf-cm, 217 ft-lbf)






(c) Using a chisel and hammer, stake the rear axle shaft nut.
11. STABILIZE SUSPENSION Installation

12. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.2 Installation

13. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.1 Installation

14. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY Installation

15. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.3 Installation

16. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
17. ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT

18. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
