C1AE7 - Rear Left Center Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor) is installed on the rear bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor). If the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
If the DTC is output after repairs, turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the intuitive parking assist system on. Then clear the DTC Intuitive Parking Assist System.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT

(a) Check for DTCs Intuitive Parking Assist System.

B -- GO TO DTC (C1AED) Up to 08/2009

A -- Continue to next step.

2. REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR LEFT CENTER SENSOR)

(a) Replace the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor) with a normally functioning sensor Removal.





HINT
All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.

(a) Clear the DTCs Intuitive Parking Assist System.

(b) Check for DTCs Intuitive Parking Assist System.
